Ittai + Adrian: prep agenda for the Yuval conversation
Thursday, Jan 16, 2026, 3:00 PM America/New_York, 29 minutes. A prior Grain recording from 2:17 PM the same day (Yuval Prep, 32 minutes) is a personal check-in; they split to a new Zoom so the work agenda would stay on its own recording. Personal details from that first recording are not filed here.
They then met Yuval at 3:30 PM: Yuval x Creative Queue.
Agenda they planned to use with Yuval
- Frame the goal first: the two or three highest-leverage sales and marketing things they should do over the next six months, from Yuval's perspective.
- Ask Yuval to recap where he understands them to be, so they can correct the record.
- Work through the live tensions: sales vs marketing at their stage; where paid ads fit; where cold outreach fits; other mediums, especially Reddit and forums.
- Optionally ask about funding. Ittai noted it had been on an earlier pitch deck; Adrian later took it off. Rod's earlier advice (as Ittai recalled it) was to do it themselves and not raise — they still wanted Yuval's opinion.
Working hypotheses (internal; not decisions)
These are how Ittai and Adrian were thinking before the advisor call, not commitments and not public claims.
- Adrian's then-current bet: the game is cold outreach, LinkedIn, and YouTube. He did not think they had enough money to target B2B brand founders through paid ads successfully.
- Ittai played devil's advocate: even with messy messaging, a small paid test (he recalled about $500) produced meetings. He agreed with Adrian overall and did not want them to close the door on paid if a small spend had been net positive.
- Adrian then sharpened the split: paid may be viable toward creatives and marketers (higher volume; that is where earlier ads got a reaction, including from someone like a creative marketer / Austec). Paid against brand founders or brand leaders did not make sense to him because there are far fewer of them. Cold outreach should aim at that founder / brand-leader archetype (the "Rachel" profile), because the "impact of creative on survival of the brand" story only really lands with people who have that much stake.
- Forums, Reddit, and similar places felt like a no-brainer that could reach all three psychographics (marketers, creatives, and founders). They mentioned that they do not know how Pollen found them, but it may be similar to how MIKUTA found them — low-level visibility in the places those people already are.
- Adrian told Ittai he had reframed Ittai's involvement: help at the Spark Projects portfolio level, not only at Creative Queue. He said he had talked with Brennan about that the week before. Voice Feedback, in that framing, might support a paid motion whose returns could come back into Creative Queue. They did not plan to unpack the whole portfolio thesis with Yuval on this call.
- If they landed a couple of clients in 2026, Adrian wanted a Shopify integration so they could tell a story about running content operations on top of store inventory — including not shooting a low-stock item that will be useless days later. He thought a short video of inventory numbers inside Creative Queue would play well on LinkedIn and YouTube.
- They watched Adrian's short Voice Feedback tutorial (~90 seconds to a bit over two minutes). Adrian's bar: Creative Queue videos should feel that approachable and should bite off one small workflow, not the entire product.
